#6

This weekend was far from fun. I have been having a wonderful time in FL for the last couple of weeks. Being away from school was wonderful, I was able to get most of my school work done within a two hour time period I did question why I even went to school when I was able to do it all on my own. Being able to ride my horse’s everyday and get lessons was amazing it was amazing experience and I learned a lot. Another plus was being able to go to all of the shows while I was there. Well this weekend started out great everyone from team Chiacchia was placed well after the first day. We were all having so much fun together; we knew it was going to be a fun weekend. Well we were very wrong. Saturday morning came around it started out well, my trainer Darren Chiacchia went out to the warm up on his first horse Baron Verdi. This was a very young horse that was very new to the sport. Darren was very nervous about this ride because the course was very difficult. Well Darren and Baron came up to fence five and Baron did the unthinkable he chested the fence which caused him to do a rotational fall onto Darren. Darren’s chest was crushed. He was then airlifted to the nearest hospital for further treatment. Everyone from the team was so scared to ride we were not sure what to do. But we knew if we didn’t compete Darren would be mad at us so we decided to go for it. Later that afternoon Jon Holling went out on his own horse Direct Merger while jumping fence 8 “Monty” had a heart attack and collapsed and died. It was so sad the watch this happen. Monty was everything to Jon and he was hoping to make the Olympic team this summer. When we thought that the day couldn’t get any worse it did my friend Missy Miller was the next up to go out on the course on her own Leprechauns’ Rowdy Boy. They were looking amazing! She came down the hill to this huge water jump and while going over the first element Rowdy Boy had a heart attack and crashed into the second fence, and flew Missy into the water. Rowdy died instantly. Hearing Missy scream “Get him” “not my Rowdy Boy” was horrible he was the love of her life and her best friend. Team Chiacchia scratched all of the horses from the rest of the competition and went home. We were not willing to risk any more of our horses or riders getting hurt. I hope that Darren makes a full recovery and will be back in the saddle soon. It is going to be very weird at the barn for awhile without him and Monty and Rowdy. They will forever be missed.

Toward the future from the past

1. Wow I never thought that I would ever write a play! Well I’m not quiet finished with it yet there is still some editing to be done, since I was gone last Thursday and Friday. Some things that I frustrating while writing the play is to not just ramble on about whatever you feel like even with having to explain a lot of things with the scene direction, I still felt like something was stopping me from that. Yet some things still surprised me I found that it was quiet an easy assignment to write a play. I tired to just make it seem as real as possible. but I also feel that it was not what it should really be and that is what would stop me from going on and writing more screen plays and more drama rolls.

2. I would tell a 10 year old that first of all take advantage right now of not having to be in school every day while you’re young because once you’re in high school you need to be there. Also that your friends will change everyone seems to go through really hard times with them selves and people around them and the people that are willing to help you are your true friends the people who don’t care if you have money, the people who don’t care what you look like without make up, people that you can just have fun with. Don’t judge people by their outside appearance it’s the inside that truly matters. Have fun while your young be apart of school activities and get involved with your school. Everyone makes many mistakes that is how we learn to do the right thing next time so don’t be afraid to make them. You will end up forgetting about that little thing because something bigger will happen later in your life. I would give them this advice because it is more of the real world things that have happened. Yes good grades and good ACT scores and going to college are wonderful but what if you could never get there because you were afraid of doing something wrong or you were too worried about the little things.

3. What I think that causes literary works to live forever are the people that appreciate older work of art. people keep on changing over time each generation is different there may be one that does not appreciate the older works of art but the next one could and I think that is how things can keep on living because someone can always go back and reintroduce it into the world that we are living in today.

1. I think that theme is very important in writing. Without a theme we would not understand the main purpose of the writing, and we would be able to question why is this piece even being written. And that is not good if we are able to do that, it shows that the writer has not been taught the correct way to write and be able to catch to readers attention. On the other hand I could see people not being able to have theme in their writing, because they may feel that they do not know how write with a theme. I know that I have had a hard time writing with a theme even though I know it is bad to be like that.

2. I was thinking of doing some kind of theme of learning your lesson for somethings that you have done wrong I have no idea as of right now how i could do that but i was thinking of having a group of kids do something wrong and they get caught for it. Then they have this nig learning thing. but im not sure what I would call the theme that i am trying to show maybe something like learning your lessons.

3. I think that I would write about an internal conflict with the main character trying to find out who they are and what they should be doing in life. I think I would have them be a young person in their teenage years, because I feel that this point in time is the hardest. Most kids get lost in the decisions that they need to make and they worried about getting into the right college and they do not want to make the right mistake. I think that with a conflict like this the reader will be able to stay tuned in with what is happening and actually be interesting. But I also think that the play would have to be directed towards a younger audience for it to be a success.

I am a thinker

1. When it comes to reading and writing I think that they play a huge role together, without one you can’t have the other. One example is you can’t read anything if there is nothing written and another is why write if no one can read it. I think other people think this is important because I feel that this is how they may learn more and figure out what they think is the right thing to think and this maybe how they express their own personality. Also it allows other people to find other peoples personality.

2. Something I think that is wrong in our country today is obesity. I fell that this a big factor in why many people die so young. It really bothers me seeing larger people, I wish that there was something I could do for them to try and make their life better in any way. I come from a family who is a little larger than most, they are not huge just out of shape, and when I ever I see them go to a fast food place or make food that has to much oil and grease in it I always wonder if they are making the right decision.

3. One movie that has inspired me is the Olympics from 2000 where a former trainer of mine won individual gold. He has always been a great leader for me and I look up at him and hope that I can be like him someday and follow my dreams of being an Olympic gold medalist. David O’Conner is one of the best horse back riders in world he trains young riders to become the best that they can be and he puts his own dreams in them, once he decided to retire from competing his new dreams became his students. He wants all of them to succeed and become better than he ever was. If I could ever be the way that he is now I think my life dream would be completed.
